I think the coolest thing that came out of this whole trip was that the girls learned how to help each other. Teamwork was the key!!! Miriam, Cassie and Erin flipped and Rachel got out of her boat to go help them get set again.
It was gorgeous to canoe down the river in this area. This is as we're getting into the "trough".
The only thing along the sides of the river in the trough are mountains and railroad tracks. We passed under a RR bridge in the beginning of the first day. It was quite spectacular.
Everyone was clustered together as they practiced paddling and steering. It didn't take long for everyone to get going at different rates down the river.
