I love when I can find a really good series of books - especially when nearly the entire series has been written upon discovery. I had heard talk about The Hunger Games and thought I should jump into it. I fell in love with the characters and the interesting perspective on what the world may be like one day. In some ways it reminded me of the series with Uglies, Pretties, Specials & Extras by Scott Westerfield. Both authors portray what life could be like in the future.
Luckily I was able to read Catching Fire right after finishing the first book. It wasn't nearly as good as The Hunger Games, but maybe it's because it talked a bit more about the politics of the time - and I'm not one into that kind of stuff. Give me adventure, mystery and/or a love story and I'm hooked. I guess Suzanne gave enough of that to keep me interested though!
As for Mockingjay... I was lucky that I only had to wait a week to get the new book. I've jumped into and am wondering where it will end. I give the series a good vote because it Suzanne Collins builds the characters well enough that you want to know what happens to them. It was a good series and I recommend it to others.
